Floor Wars
This tournament-style dance competition has been a premiere event at the convention since 2012. It’s a place for the best dancers in the fandom to battle it out and entertain a massive audience while they compete in a variety of challenges that change every year.
For Floor Wars this year we are hosting 1v1's with another fun challenge: Jeopardy!
You and your opponent will both choose a card at the beginning of each battle. Each card contains a genre of music that will then be played. However, each card can only be chosen once throughout the entire event! So choose wisely!
Tracks for tie breakers and the 3rd round of the final battle will be a randomly selected track spun by our DJ, Wild'On'Wax!
Sign-up for Floor Wars 2025 will be open until November 23, 2025 at 11 AM CT.

Due to the increasing demand of Floor Wars, there will be a preliminary event. Finalists will be chosen and revealed in a similar manner to the fursuit dance competition. A waitlist of dancers will also be created in the event that there is a problem with finalists not showing up and/or being disqualified.
Please ensure you are present EARLY for prelims and finals – 30 minutes prior to panel start time! Final roll calls typically happen 20 minutes prior to start time.
FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.
As with last year, we will be hosting an optional online preliminary to allow opportunity for people unable to make in-person prelims (Dealers, Panel Hosts, etc). Specific details will be provided via email if this option is chosen during sign-up.
Costume Restrictions & Expectations
Dancers may be fursuiters, nonsuiters, or any combination. No restriction except to keep outfits PG-13 (no visible genitals, etc).
Format
This year’s format is 1v1, with a Jeopardy challenge. You and your opponent will both choose a card at the beginning of each battle. Each card contains a genre of music that will then be played. However, each card can only be chosen once throughout the entire event! So choose wisely!
Each battle has 2 rounds; finals will have 3 rounds.
Prior to each round, the Jeopardy board will be shown with what options are remaining. Each dancer will choose one card, which our DJ will then prep. For example:
Dancer 1 selects: 2000's Breakbeats
Dancer 2 selects: 2010's Krump Beats
These cards are then both marked red, and unable to be chosen for the remainder of the event.
Round 1 = 2000's Breakbeats: both sides will each dance in allotted time (45-55 secs per side)
Round 2 = 2010's Krump Beats: both sides will dance again.
In the case of tiebreakers and third rounds of finals, the DJ will spin a personally selected track by them. Judges will then vote on who moves on.
