Midwest FurFest was founded with two basic purposes: to provide our community with a place to educate themselves in the arts of anthropomorphic literature, art and performance; and to facilitate fundraising and donations to non-profit organizations which promote the wellbeing of humans and/or animals.
What is Midwest FurFest?
Midwest FurFest is an annual convention which takes place in Rosemont, IL, which is in the west suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. It is an event for people around the world to come together to celebrate the furry fandom, which includes art, literature and performances based around anthropomorphic animals. Midwest FurFest is a production of Midwest Furry Fandom, Inc, a 501(c)3 (non-profit corporation).
Since 2000, the convention has grown from 388 attendees to more than 17,000; one of the largest conventions of its type in the world. We are proud to have raised over $900,000 for various social, wildlife, and animal related charities.
