Guests of Honor
Midwest FurFest is excited to honor a few of our community's best and brightest!
Joaquin Baldwin
Joaquín is the author of the award-winning Noss Saga, a series of fantasy novels that is as epic as it is queer, touching on themes of sexuality, transformation, and the nature of consciousness.
He is also known for his independent animated shorts, which have amassed over 100 international awards, and for his work in photography, cinematography, and illustration. He currently works at Disney, where his credits include Zootopia, Moana, Encanto, Frozen, and lots more.
Chervil (Aaron Le)
Chervil is a cartoonist and animator known for his comic, Duncan and Eddie. He embraces the mundane, celebrating the simple, silly moments of life with his art. Through his work, Chervil explores LGBTQ experiences with cute, heartwarming, and dorky stories.
Chervil quickly connected with the furry community from the incredible outpouring of public support towards marginalized groups and hopes to inspire the same hope and positivity he was met with using his comics.
kitchiki (Phoebe Warries)
Phoebe Warries is a female queer digital artist living in the UK that has been making animal and nature based art online since 2006. She graduated university with an award winning short film and a masters in animation.
She has been happily working freelance and continuing to have fun within the furry community. In her art journey she hopes to spread positivity, relieve stress, make people smile and laugh, as well as highlight some of the wonderful things about the natural world and to celebrate diversity.
Scurrow
Scurrow is a fursuiter, musician, song writer, and artist from New Jersey. He is the lead singer of the band "I've Made Too Much Pasta", which has 2 albums - "Swear I saw your mouth move" (2017) and "How to drive a bus" (2021).
After teaching himself how to play guitar and accordion 20 years ago, Scurrow started playing in bands in the early 2000s and was very active in the local NJ punk scene.
Once he joined furry in 2009, he was determined to combine rock music with anthropomorphic animals and fursuiting. What started out as videos of ukulele covers in fursuit eventually became a full band with original music which can be found on Bandcamp.
Scurrow is also known for drawing traditional artwork in "rescued" frames, streaming live music on twitch, and taking cryptic fursuit photos with the help of his talented photographer friends.
Scurrow currently resides in New Jersey amongst a golden spiral of warehouses. He is not from outer space or "The Void."
