We just heard on the radio: the blizzard has come and gone, and now there’s no work and no school. It’s that unplanned holiday that all Chicago children (and adults) plan for: a Snow Day! Midwest FurFest was founded with two basic purposes: to provide our community with a place to educate themselves in the arts of anthropomorphic literature, art and performance; and to facilitate fundraising and donations to non-profit organizations which promote the wellbeing of humans and/or animals.

What is Midwest FurFest?
Midwest FurFest is an annual convention which takes place in the west suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. We come together to celebrate the furry fandom, which includes art, literature and performances based around anthropomorphic animals.Midwest FurFest is a production of Midwest Furry Fandom, Inc, a 501(c)3 (non-profit corporation).
Since 2000, the convention has grown from 388 attendees to more than 13,000; the largest convention of its type in the world. We are proud to have raised over $800,000 for various social, wildlife, and animal related charities. Additionally, the Midwest Furfest Art Show generates over $75,000 each year for the talented artists and makers of furry fandom through auctions, donations, and benefits.
