Darcy and Matt Sowers

The comic book creating duo behind Code Name: Hunter, Darcy and Matt spend their days in endless toil, slaving tirelessly over art, plot and story.

Okay, so we had you fooled for a second there.

Darcy is a trained researcher and librarian, holding a degree from the University of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!). She has been drawing since before she can remember, and is the artist behind 'Code Name: Hunter'. In March of 2007, she left her library job to pursue the comic full time.

Matt started life as an electrical engineer, but due to sanity issues, settled into a career as a programmer for the FAA. His diseased brain is responsible for a majority of the plot and story work in the comic, although if you confront him over it, he'll lie. When he's not moving airplanes around he dabbles in game design, web hosting, and costume design.

In 1999, the pair met up on the internet, and sealed the fate of all mankind. In 2001, what would become 'Code Name: Hunter' reared it's head, and from then on it was all the two could do to hold on.

'Code Name: Hunter' is a expansive urban fantasy set in a world close to our own. In 2004, it started life as a web-based comic, but was restarted in 2005 as a full color comic book. The story has gone through several art metamorphosis and dramatic plot changes before it's debut as a comic book, finally settling on the current format and story.

About the Comic:

Imagine a world much like ours. Where the day to day is just that. Now, what would happen if one day that stopped, and all the myths and stories returned to the light of day? That was London, sixty years ago, where during one of the darkest nights of World War Two, the myths and folklore returned to a city that had known nothing but reason and logic for almost a millennium.

In the midst of war, this new crisis has been noticed, and a stopgap put into place. Sixty years later, this stopgap is still holding, a small agency buried deep in Britain's Bureaucracy. Knowing there's no way of actually stopping the magic, they're trying to keep the old ways and older creatures from gaining ground too quickly.

Sounds fantastic? Well, it is. 'Code Name: Hunter' is a fantasy comic. Urban fantasy. However it's also a comic about relationships, and people, and day to day life where life is just a little bit surreal. The comic's focus is not just on the weirdness cropping up, but on the lives and work (and play) of two people who work for the agency tasked to keep a handle on the things that go bump in the night.

Lucky the Evil Dog

Lucky the Evil Dog is just your run-of-the-mill, mascot-for-hire/performer. He's not as evil as he thinks; certainly more
mischievous than evil. He's a serious people-watcher - what better place to find material for entertainment of than ordinary people?

Lucky has two fursonas: Lucky Dog, also known as Clifford's Evil Twin, and Ooga Chaka, The Purple Furry Eater. Look out, he's got quite an appetite!

If you are unsure of what its like to perform in a suit or are just starting out and would love to better define who your character is while

you are walking around in it, then introduce yourself to Lucky and he will be happy to help you out. He will be hosting several performance
panels at the convention.

Foxfeather R. Zenkova

An artist and herpetoculturalist currently residing in southern Minnesota, she shares her home with a small menagerie of critters, including fennec foxes, pied crows, parrots, toucans, and a growing collection of rare reptiles. She is working to combine her passions for animals and art into a career based around education, conservation, and responsible animal husbandry.

Artistically, Foxfeather loves to challenge herself with a wide range of
media; some of her preferred materials include tagua and leather in addition to paper and canvas. She adores working with natural materials and is greatly inspired by the natural world. "To me," she says, "Art is magic. Being able to take something raw, and to change it; mold it, breathe life into it - that's incredible. I strive as an artist to portray not only the product, but also the process, of this creation."

In addition to art and caring for her own little zoo, Foxfeather is an avid writer. She recently left a position with a large online gaming company to persue personal projects, including a novel and a fledgling MMORPG.
